Janakpurdham, December 1
Exactly one week after police opened fire, killing one and injuring two in Bardibas of Mahottari in their bid to contain a local demonstration, the Ministry of Home Affairs has sent an investigation team to the district.
The three-member team led by the ministry’s under-secretary Rudra Pandit is scheduled to reach the district today, informs Mahottari’s Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Katuwal. Nepal Police SPs Abhinaya Singh and Krishna Prasain are other members of the committee.
“I have been informed that the committee will begin its work today itself.”
Meanwhile, the District Police Office has called to policemen allegedly involved in the firing to the DPO for interrogation.
The DPO chief SP Tika KC says SI Birendra Singh and head constable Phulgen Mandal stationed at Bardibas Area Police Office have been called for necessary investigation.
