Kathmandu, February 11
A body of a woman was found in a hotel in Bijaya Chowk in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
According to Chief SSP Bhupendra Khatri of District Police Range, Kathmandu, the body of a 45-year-old woman was found on Saturday evening.
The hotel owners found the body after entering the room suspecting the woman had left without settling the bill. Upon finding the body, the hotel called the police who found the woman on the bed with ropes nearby.
“The door was locked from the outside. We suspect murder and investigating further,” said Khatri.
The staff at Siraha Dhanusha Hotel and Lodge, where the body was discovered, said that the woman had arrived at the hotel with a man. However, the individual provided incorrect details during registration, adding to the suspicion surrounding the incident.
Currently, the Kathmandu Valley Crime Division and District Police Range in Teku have also arrived at the scene to conduct their investigation. SSP Khatri has confirmed that the search for the suspect is ongoing.
According to the sources, the deceased woman had previously been charged with being involved in prostitution.
Further investigation is underway.
