Kathmandu, January 1
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, giving his annual New Year greetings, said that the country would be more prosperous in 2021. He said that the foundations laid in 2020 would take Nepal to new levels in the years to come.
“Our vision has always been the betterment of the nation and its people. That’s been our long-term goal and it’s taking shape slowly,” he said. “I promise you that Nepal in the next few years will reach new heights.”
The implementation of the constitution as per national aspirations, social awakening and revival of stagnant work are the government’s main agenda, he said.
He further said that there were factors that were proving to be a hindrance in the works being done by the government. He said despite ‘some peoples’ efforts to derail the government’s goals of making Nepal prosperous, it had done a fair job to achieve its goal of “prosperous Nepal and happy Nepali”.
He added for the government’s campaign to make people’s lives better and happier, he needed the help of people from all sectors.
“We need to be together to work to make the country a better place,” he said.
