Kathmandu, March 10
The government has appointed Neelam Dhungana Timsina and Bam Bahadur Mishra as deputy governors of the Nepal Rastra Bank.
With this, Dhungana Timsina became the first woman to this high rank in the central bank of the country.
A cabinet meeting held on Tuesday made the appointments, informs a minister.
Dhungana Timsina and Mishra were leading the Public Debt Management Department and the Foreign Exchange Management Department of the bank respectively.
Six executive directors of various departments were contesting for the two positions that were vacant since incumbent Chintamani Shiwakoti and Shiva Raj Shrestha had retired last week.
