Kathmandu, April 30
Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation Mani Thapa has tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday.
His secretariat says the report of the test done yesterday has come out this morning. He had given his swab samples for the test after his daughter was found infected recently.
Thapa’s health condition is normal and he is isolated at home, according to the secretariat.
Thapa has become the second known Covid-19 case in the KP Sharma Oli-led cabinet during the current second wave of the pandemic in Nepal. Earlier this week, another member of the Oli cabinet, Energy Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, along with some other family members, had tested positive.
