All citizens in local units bordering China to get Covid-19 vaccines from Tuesday

Kathmandu, June 7

Whereas the government has planned to vaccinate citizens aged 60 to 64 with the Vero Cell vaccines donated by China from Tuesday, it says all citizens above the age of 18 in the local units bordering China will also get the vaccines.

The Department of Health Services issued a circular to all provincial health service directorates and supply agencies to provide the vaccines to the citizens above 18 in the selected local units. Likewise, people aged above 55 will get the first dose of the vaccine in mountainous districts.

Similarly, people aged between 60 and 64 will be vaccinated in the Kathmandu valley whereas in other districts peopled aged 62-64 will be prioritised. People aged 60-61 will be included in the drive only after vaccinating them.

People above these age categories have already received the first dose of the vaccines and are waiting for the second one.
