Apple recently launched its latest smartphone series, iPhone 13. Along with the release of the iPhone, Apple also launched iPad, iPad Mini, and the latest Apple Watch Series 7 which will be available in Nepal later this year.
Apple Watch Series 6 was one of the best smartwatches made to this day and people can expect the new Series 7 to be even better.
A larger display with thinner bezels, a faster-charging battery that promises eight hours of use after eight minutes of charging, and a more crack-resistant front crystal are some of the noticeable features of the new Apple Watch Series 7. This smartwatch has plenty to provide, so let’s get into the details.

Design and display
The Apple Watch series has got pretty much the same design since its inception back in 2015, the most noticeable change being getting a display overhaul with the launch of the Apple Watch Series 4. This was three years ago, and you can expect the Apple Watch Series 7 will feature an even greater change in design.
The new Apple Watch Series 7 is expected to come in 41mm and 45mm size options which is an increase from 40mm and 44mm. The display of the Series 7 is the largest display yet in an Apple Watch, 20% more than the Series 6. It also has thinner bezels. It is also said there is a new lamination technique that will bring the display of the watch closer to the front cover, with updated screen technology.
The 45mm Apple Watch Series 7 model, which will be the largest to date, will have a body size that measures 1.9 inches diagonally, up from 1.78 inches. It will have a resolution of 396 x 484, up from 368 x 448. With fewer bezels and more display, the viewing experience would be better. It is also said the display will be 70% brighter than the previous generation’s watch. Apple also claimed that this is the most durable smartwatch it has ever built.
Health features
The Apple Watch Series 7 has an abundance of health features. Some of the major health features include:
- Measuring blood oxygen level
- ECG
- Sleep tracking
- Outdoor cycling
- Fitness tracking
- Fitness+
Though having an abundance of health features, the new Watch Series 7 does not seem to have any newness to offer in this sector. Almost all the health features the Watch Series 7 has could be found in Watch Series 6 as well.
The health feature like blood oxygen will help you understand how well your body is absorbing oxygen and the amount of oxygen delivered to your body. This can be a great feature for people having asthma, heart disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Similarly, you can also take an ECG anytime and anywhere you like. Apple Watch Series 7 is capable of generating an ECG image similar to that of a single-lead electrocardiogram. The ECG app can also indicate whether your heart rhythm shows a sign of atrial fibrillation or a sinus rhythm.
Other than this, there are dozens of workout modes and the watch can track all the ways you move. The watch also automatically detects when you begin pedalling the cycle and also reminds the user to start a workout. Fall detection mode also has been optimised for cycling and other workouts. There is also a voice feedback feature on the watch that announces workout milestones like speed, distance, and more.
Processor and battery life
The Apple Watch Series 7 runs on watchOS 8.0 Operating system and is powered by an S7 SiP chipset. It is said to be 20% faster than the S5 chip on last year’s Apple Watch SE. The internal storage of the new Apple Watch Series 7 is 32GB.
There is not much improvement in the battery life of the new watch. A full charge can last up to 18 hours of battery life. However, the charge can be done quicker in this model. Up to 80% of the charge can be done in just 45 minutes thanks to the USB-C cord that comes in the box.
Also, eight minutes of charging can provide eight hours of sleep tracking.
Other features of the Apple Watch Series 7 are:
- Large and advanced display
- Up to 33% faster charging
- Five all new aluminum colours
- Redesigned buttons
- Apple Watch first- a new qwerty keyboard
- Crack resistance, 50% thicker front crystal
- Water resistance up to 50 meters
- Dust resistance
- Workout tracker
- Activity rings: Activity sharing and competition
- Music, podcast and audiobooks
Apple has not announced the official price of the Apple Watch Series 7 and the watch is set to be released by the fall of this year.
