Kathmandu, November 1
Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Bikas Samiti, the government authority to decide festival dates and times as per the traditional Hindu calendar, stated that the auspicious hour for this year’s Bhaitika is at 11:02 am coming Saturday, November 6.
According to the committee’s member secretary Surya Prasad Dhungel, the time has been decided based on the calculation of planetary movements.
Bhaitika is the final day of the five-day festival, on which sisters and brothers exchange tika representing wishes for a long time, happiness and prosperity. They also exchange gifts with each other.
The siblings also exchange various gifts and delicacies including sel roti, fruits and dry fruits and gifts on the occasion.
