A man has died after being beaten by a group of some other people in Nayabasti, Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city-4 of the Dang district on Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Top Bahadur Pun Magar (21), a local.
Seriously injured in the accident, Pun Magar was declared dead as soon as he was brought to the Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur at around 3 am today, informs SP Suresh Kaphle of the District Police Office.
Meanwhile, Shankar Dangi (17), a resident of Kapurkot rural municipality-4 of the neighbouring Salyan district, has sustained injuries. He has been taken to Lucknow of India for further treatment.
Three locals of Tulsipur–Khum Bahadur Magar (20), Resham Thapa (18) and Binaya Magar (21)–attacked Pun Magar and Dangi–with sticks and a sharp weapon over an old dispute, a preliminary investigation has revealed.
The suspects are on the run. Police are searching for them.
