Tecno Pova 3 is the latest release from Tecno Mobile.
This is the successor of last year’s Tecno Pova 2 which was one of the smartphones to watch for less than Rs 25,000 as the phone offered a mammoth 7,000 mAh battery, a huge 6.9-inch display and a 48MP quad-camera setup. The newly launched Tecno Pova 3 offers similar specifications but in a better way. In particular, it has a new design, a faster-charging feature, better camera performance and also has a reverse charging mode too that might fare well in the Nepali market once the phone arrives here.

Design and display
Tecno Pova 3 has a glass front with a plastic back and a plastic frame build. The phone gets a new design compared to its predecessor. The back panel houses a camera module and an LED flash. There is also a strip coming from the top to the bottom of the phone with panther engine branding on it which gives the phone a cool look. On the electric blue variant, the strip also has a stunning power light, which gets lit in the notification, incoming calls charging, games and other interactive scenarios. Tecno Pova branding is also done on the bottom left of the back panel.
The phone is 9.44 mm thick and is available in electric blue, tech silver and eco black colours. Furthermore, the phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that also works as a power button.
On the front, Tecno Pova 3 features a massive 6.9-inch FHD+ Dot-in display with a resolution of 1,080*2,460 pixels and 389 PPI density. The display also supports a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate for smoother scrolling and faster screen response. Furthermore, it can achieve a peak brightness of up to 500 nits.
Cameras
Tecno Pova 3 features 50MP triple AI camera. The main 50MP main camera on the back is accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor and an AI lens. There is also a quad flash that resides at the side of the vertical camera module. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie shooter. Some photography and videography features include portrait mode, HDR mode and 4K time-lapse photography.
The main camera on the back of the phone can record videos in 1440p resolution at 30 fps while the front camera can record videos in 1080p resolution.
Performance and storage
Tecno Pova 3 runs on HIOS based on Android 11. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset with an octa-core CPU with 2GHz of peak frequency and the graphics are handled by Mali-G52 MC2. This is a budget gaming chipset. To boost the gaming experience on the phone, it features 4D vibrations that allow the user to find exclusive immersion in different game scenes.
The phone also features panther engine 2.0 with hyper engine 2.0 Lite game engine. This feature increases the performance of the phone while consuming low power allowing one to enjoy smooth and lag-free mobile games. There is also a graphite cooling feature on the phone.
For the storage, Tecno Pova 3 comes with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM coupled with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage respectively. The storage of the phone can be expanded with the help of a micro SD card and the phone has a dedicated slot for it. The phone also offers a RAM expansion option. The RAM on the 4GB variant and 6GB variant can be expanded up to 7GB and 11GB respectively.
Battery life, connectivity and others
Tecno Pova 3 features a massive 7,000mAh battery. The company claims this power is enough for the user to get 50 hours of music, eight hours of gameplay and 20 hours of youtube video play. This massive battery gets charged through a 33W flash charger. The battery backup offered by this phone is a great feature and the users can enjoy the use of their phones without worrying about the battery.
Tecno Pova 3 supports dual sims for cellular network connectivity while supports dual-band Wifi as well. The phone is also NFC enabled and supports Bluetooth connectivity for wireless pairing with other devices. For charging and wired connectivity, it uses USB Type-C 2.0 cable.
There are dual speakers on the phone with DTS Stereo Sound effects. The speakers are said to provide super sensational sound effects, giving users a more immersive gaming experience. The phone also features a 3.5mm headphone jack.
