Kathmandu, September 18
At least 21 people died in various landslides in the Achham district of Sudurpaschim on Friday and Saturday.
Two others are missing whereas three others are still missing.
Deepesh Rijal, an administrative officer of the Achham District Administration Office, says the landslides caused huge losses in Turmakhand and Dhakari rural municipalities and Kamalbazar municipality.
Eight persons have died in ward 8 of Turmakhand whereas the death toll in ward 7 of Kamalbazar is seven. Five persons died in Kamalbazar-8 and one each in wards 1 and 6 of Dhakari.
Rijal says the exact worth of material losses is yet to be encountered.
Three injured people have been airlifted to the Karnali Provincial Hospital in Surkhet and a search has been launched to find the missing.
