Kathmandu, October 29
Sixteen people died in accidents in Koshi Province during Dashain.
According to the National Security and Traffic Management Office of Nepal Police, there were 135 accidents reported from October 21 to October 28 in which 265 people were injured.
Nepal Police reported 16 fatalities and 41 individuals with serious injuries as a result of the accidents.
During Dashain, Nepal Police took action against 6,628 vehicles. The office reported that a total fine of Rs 4.14 million was collected as a result of these actions.
According to the traffic police, there were 180 vehicles involved in accidents in the Koshi Province during fiscal year 2022/23.
