Kathmandu, December 20
Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) earned Rs 22 billion in the last fiscal year.
NAC, on Tuesday, released a statement which shows that it earned Rs 22.24 billion in fiscal year 2022/23.
The business of the corporation, which declined during the Covid pandemic, appears to have rebounded as operations returned to normal.
The Corporation, which reported an income of Rs 9.10 billion in the fiscal year 2020/21, saw a significant increase to Rs 16.46 billion in the fiscal year 2021/22. This growth occurred despite the adverse impact of Covid on tourist arrivals.
As of now, the corporation operates four aircraft on international flights, while only two aircraft are currently deemed airworthy for domestic operations.
In addition to flight operations, ground handling services at all three international airports serve as a key revenue stream for the corporation. However, NAC’s monopoly on ground handling services at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu might be over.
