Kathmandu, December 24
An automated court reminder system has been set up in all high courts.
The system was inaugurated by Chief Justice Bishwombhar Prasad Shrestha in a program held at the Patan High Court.
“This is a happy moment,” Shrestha said, adding no one would now be able to shift dates. “It will make the administrative process in the courts smoother. Everyone has faith this will work.”
Previously, the court was appointed by a lottery system. The study committee chaired by the then judge Hari Krishna Karki suggested the introduction of an automated court reminder system to remove distortions and inconsistencies in the court.
CJ Shrestha inaugurated an automated court reminder system at the Supreme Court on August 28. With the apex court benefitting from the new system, it is also being implemented in all high courts.
