The Nepal men’s football team has maintained its position at 175th in the latest FIFA rankings. According to the rankings released by FIFA, the global governing body of football, on Thursday, Nepal’s standing remains unchanged.
In March, Nepal played two international matches. In a friendly match, Nepal secured a 1-0 victory against Singapore, a team ranked 14 places higher. However, in the Asian Cup qualifiers, Nepal suffered a 2-0 defeat against Malaysia, which was ranked 43 places higher.
Within South Asia, Nepal ranks third behind India and the Maldives. India has dropped one spot to 127th, while the Maldives has fallen two spots to 164th. Bhutan remains unchanged at 182nd, while Bangladesh has improved by two places to 183rd. Pakistan is ranked 198th, and Sri Lanka stands at 200th.
On the global stage, world champion Argentina retains its position at the top of the FIFA rankings. Spain has climbed to second place, pushing France down to third. England and Brazil hold steady in fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
Among other top-ranked teams, the Netherlands has moved up one spot to sixth, while Portugal has dropped to seventh. Belgium, Italy, and Germany remain in eighth, ninth, and tenth positions, respectively.
