The Department of Revenue Investigation has arrested three people with at least Rs 20 million from Chhetrapati, Kathmandu.
According to Nawa Raj Dhungana, the director general of the department, Naresh Agrawal and his associates are among those arrested with illegal money. “We are still counting the confiscated amount,” he said.
According to Dhungana, it is believed that the recovered amount may be from illegal hundi transactions and Agarwal was also involved in cryptocurrency trading, which is banned in Nepal.
