The Nagarkot Zipline, Nepal’s longest zipline, has seen a surge in interest from domestic and international tourists.
Located in wards 6 and 7 of Changunarayan Municipality, Bhaktapur, the zipline spans an impressive 2,250 meters and began operations about a year ago. Developed with an investment of approximately Rs 50 million, it is claimed to be Asia’s second-longest and Nepal’s longest zipline.
Kedar Thapa, the zipline’s operator, shared that the initiative targets tourists visiting Nagarkot to witness sunrise and sunset. Thapa, who also operates the Dhulikhel Zipline, stated that the cost per ride is Rs 4,500 for Nepali citizens and $50 for foreigners.
To complement the zipline experience, Thapa has invested around Rs 100 million to establish a luxury hotel named Prem Durbar. “The hotel aims to provide convenience and comfort to zipline riders and other visitors,” Thapa noted.
The hotel offers two categories of rooms—deluxe and standard. It also emphasises local flavours by using agricultural products sourced from its farm, including goat, chicken, and vegetables.
Prem Basnet, another operator of the hotel, highlighted that this approach not only enhances the dining experience for tourists but also supports local farming practices.
