The Nepal Premier League (NPL), often dubbed the “grand festival of domestic cricket,” kicked off on Saturday at the Tribhuvan University cricket ground in Kirtipur. Alongside enthusiastic spectators, the event saw a vibrant presence of music, fashion, and film celebrities.
The three-week-long tournament is set to keep artists busy throughout, as all eight NPL clubs have appointed popular celebrities as brand ambassadors. These ambassadors, along with other stars, were spotted around the cricket grounds on the inaugural day.
To boost the spirit of their respective teams, celebrities have been actively engaging fans through social media campaigns and in-stadium interactions. Notable figures like Rajesh Hamal, Swastima Khadka, Dayahang Rai, Rachana Rimal, and Sandeep Chhetri are among the appointed ambassadors, with many other stars also gracing the event.
The opening ceremony featured a musical performance by Trishala Gurung, who captivated the audience by singing the patriotic anthem Rato Ra Chandra Surya. Her rendition added excitement to the atmosphere, setting the tone for a unique blend of cricket, music, and cinema that fans can expect throughout the NPL season.
