Kathmandu, April 7
Demanding the immediate enactment of the School Education Act, teachers staged a silent protest on Monday wearing black masks.
As part of their ongoing protest since March 31, the teachers marched from Maitighar to Baneshwor in Kathmandu. The silent demonstration aimed to draw the government’s attention to their long-standing demands.
Earlier, teachers have demonstrated by sleeping on the streets and blowing whistles in protest.
The protest was called by the Nepal Teachers’ Federation. The organisation has warned of an education strike if the government fails to address their demands by April 7.
