Kathmandu, May 12
Police on Tuesday detained various rights activities including veteran Krishna Pahadi while they were staging an anti-India protest outside the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.
The activists had gathered outside the embassy to protest India’s announcement of the inauguration of a link road to Manasarovar that passes through Gunji village of the Nepali territory, and the Nepal government’s inability to reclaim the land.
Since the Friday announcement, sporadic protests are taking place in Kathmandu and other major cities of the country despite lockdown restrictions. Police have been detaining and releasing the demonstrators after a few hours every day.
