Suspended lawmaker Mohammad Aftab Alam, accused of injuring several people in an explosion and killing some of them by burning in a brick kiln in Rajpur of Rautahat district in 2008, has denied the charge. He says there was not any explosion incident.
Giving his statement in front of a District Court bench during the bail hearing in Gaur of the district on Friday, the Nepali Congress leader said, “I have not exploded even a firecracker. No way I planted a bomb.”
The government attorneys have filed three charge sheets against Alam, accusing him of murder, attempt to murder and explosion. He, however, has been denying all of them.
