Biplav tried to imitate me, but it won’t work: Dahal

Pushpa Kamal Dahal speaks with journalists in Pokhara, on Monday, March 11, 2019.

Kathmandu, March 11

Nepal Communist Party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, whose party has been carrying out various explosions in different parts of the country of late, is trying to imitate him.

Dahal, however, says the model will not work.

Dahal had led the decade-long Maoists war from mid 1990s, and Chand was also a member of his army. When Dahal is in the peaceful politics now, Chand’s small party has been warning of waging another war.

Citing that he knows Chand for a long time as he used to work at his secretariat, Dahal says, “There are substantial differences between the situations then and now.”

“Thinking that he would become Prachanda [Dahal’s another name] by imitating Prachanda is only a fantasy.”
