Boundary fixation commission formed under former government secretary

Singha-DarbarThe KP Oli government has formed a commission for fixing the number and boundaries of village councils, municipal councils, special protected zones and autonomous zones.

The Cabinet held late on Monday night decided to form a commission under former government secretary Bala Nanda Poudel. The commission has Shyam Bhurtel, Dor Mani Poudel, Madhav Adhikari, Dhiraj Shah, Sunil Ranjan Singh and Pabitra Shrestha Subba as members. One more member will be appointed to the commission later on. A government secretary will act as the commission’s member secretary.

Government Spokesperson Sher Dhan Rai said the government has released Rs 31, 17, 500 for the treatment of 19 people injured during the United Democratic Madheshi Front-organised Madhesh movement. The Cabinet has directed the Finance and Home Ministries to make arrangements for payment of the sum to the injured.

The Cabinet also approved a working procedure for the distribution of money for purchase of ration to all employees of the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force. It appointed Laxmi Narayan Chaudhari as executive director of the United Nations Park Development Committee.
