Kathmandu, April 28
The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) under the Nepal government says Nepal’s economic growth rate would be 5.84 per cent this fiscal year.
The government, in the annual budget, has targeted to achieve a 7 per cent growth target this year. But, CBS, also a government agency, revised it and said it would be just 5.84 per cent this year.
The bureau made the information public during a press meet in Kathmandu on Thursday.
Although the recent projection is lower than the earlier estimate, development partners such as the Asian Development Bank, World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have even lower projections at 3.9 per cent, 3.7 per cent and 4.1 per cent respectively.
