Kathmandu, December 14
Police have arrested the cleaning supervisor of Tribhuvan International Airport in connection to the 14-kilogram gold smuggling case.
Chandra Ghale of Gorkha was arrested with 14-kilogram gold at the Tribhuvan International Airport on December 7.
During investigations, Ghale told police he was asked to place the gold in the toilet dustbin.
The government has established a committee led by Chief Customs Officer Maniram Paudel to probe the gold smuggling case.
Sources from the Tribhuvan Airport Customs Office have said that the committee arrested Sushila Pandey, the airport’s cleaning supervisor, from Bhaktapur on Wednesday night for further investigation.
In connection with this case, the investigation committee has already arrested three employees of Tribhuvan Airport for questioning.
