Kathmandu, November 2
Prime Minsiter Sher Bahadur Deuba’s Nepali Congress party is yet to finalise candidates for provincial assemblies and federal House of Representatives for the elections to be held in 128 federal and 256 provincial constituencies on December 7.
The Election Commission says the nominations have to be filed by 5 pm today.
Meanwhile, Deuba has been unable to go to his home constituency in Dadeldhura of far-western Nepal to file his nomination for the polls as he is busy meeting top leaders of the party to finalise candidates.
The PM’s press coordinator Govinda Pariyar says the PM has authorised his proxy Ganesh Panta to file the papers on his behalf.
Some other leaders of the party are also unlikely to go to their constituencies for nominations owing to last-hour meetings.
