Constitution Amendment: Parties agree to postpone vote

Kathmandu, February 22

Nepal’s political parties have agreed to postpone a vote on a key constitution amendment bill, in an attempt reach a deal on the issue.

The bill was to be put to vote later in the day. However, a meeting of Parliament’s business committee in the afternoon decided to put the vote on hold for the moment.

This comes after the opposition alliance formally announced that it will block any attempt to put the bill to vote.
