Biratnagar, April 4
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has dismissed the demand for the party’s special convention as demanded by some district presidents.
Deuba says the party cannot call the convention just because a handful of people demand it.
Speaking with journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Thursday, Deuba expressed dissatisfaction over a meeting that presidents of around 50 districts committees were holding in Kathmandu.
He said the number of district presidents taking part in the event was just around 20.
For the past few months, the district presidents have been advocating against Deuba citing he amended the party statute against the mandate of mahasamiti meeting held in December last year.
