Kathmandu, February 22
Nepal’s election commission has announced the timetable for upcoming civic polls.
According to the timetable, names of candidates need to be filed on April 29.
This comes just days after Nepal’s government announced that civic polls will be held on May 14. According to the commission, candidates who wish to run for office will have to file their candidacy on April 29 (10 am-5 pm_ at the respective election offices.
A final list of candidates will be published on May 2, the commission said at a programme in the capital on Wednesday. Similarly, on poll day, voting will take place from 7 am to 5 pm.
