Kathmandu, July 10
The Election Commission says new voters can register their names on the voters’ list from July 16 to 30.
The newly registered voters can cast their votes in provincial and federal elections to be held by January next year.
The EC spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma says one needs to visit the concerned District Election Office with his/her certificate to get registered as a voter.
Though the Commission had earlier said people could register their names from any place within the country, now one needs to visit the concerned District Election Office in person, Sharma clarifies.
Recently migrated persons need to go to the Office with the migration registration certificate.
Meanwhile, the Commission says if anyone has found any error on his/her detail on the voters’ list, one can apply for corrections during the same period.
Around 14 million voters had been registered for the recently held local level elections.
