Excavator operator who killed Dhading woman by burying her alive nabbed in India

Locals of Salyantar in Dhading put an excavator on fire after its operator buried a woman to death, on March 1, 2021.

Kathmandu, March 19

The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police says it has arrested a man from Dang of southwestern Nepal on the charge of killing a woman in Dhading by burying her alive.

Bhim Bahadur Budhathoki was operating an excavator at Kholsi Jipjipe, Salyantar, Tripurasundari-1 of Dhading, some kilometres west of Kathmandu, on March 1, when a 45-year-old local, Saraswati Rimal fell into a pit being dug there for the road construction. Instead of rescuing her, the driver had buried her there and fled.

Whereas the woman died later, locals had put the excavator on fire.

Then, the CIB had launched an investigation.

“It has been found that he first went to Dang to collect some money from relatives and then to India’s Haryana,” the CIB Director DIG Sahakul Bahadur Thapa says.

But, Nepal Police nabbed him in coordination with the Indian Police, according to him.

Now, the District Police Office in Dhading will prepare to prosecute him on the murder charge.
