Fire in Nagarjun Causes Losses Worth Rs 1.5 Million

Kathmandu, March 16

A fire at a shelter on the border of Hasantar and Gautam village in Nagarjun Municipality-7 has caused an estimated loss of Rs 1.5 million.

According to SP and spokesperson Apilraj Bohora of the Kathmandu District Police Range, the fire destroyed household items, including clothes, and burned down the shelter.

The incident occurred at around 9:40 pm on Saturday in a single-story makeshift house where Krishna Hari Shrestha’s family was residing.

Upon receiving the report, a team led by DSP Rupesh Khadka from the Kalimati Police Circle was deployed to the scene.

The fire was brought under control within an hour with the help of police, locals, and four fire engines from Lalitpur and Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Police reported that wooden furniture, clothes, and kitchen utensils were among the items destroyed in the fire.
