Kathmandu, January 23
Meteorologists have forecast significant winter rainfall in the country from Monday night.
In this winter season, the country has not received a significant amount of precipitation, and there are reports that it has caused an imbalance in the country’s ecosystem.
However, a westerly low-pressure system is expected to enter the country from far-western Nepal, causing rainfall, according to the Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
Because of that, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces are likely to receive rainfall tonight whereas Lumbini and Gandaki, besides the two other provinces, are expected to see cloudy weather conditions.
The division says the eastern side of the country is unlikely to get affected by the new system causing winter rainfall immediately.
