Kathmandu, October 7
Ganga Prasad Upreti has been appointed as the Chancellor of Nepal Academy again.
Prime Minister and chief patron of the Academy, KP Sharma Oli, appointed him to the post. He had completed his four-year term just around one month ago.
Upreti took the oath of office and secrecy from Prime Minister Oli today itself. On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli directed the Academy team to illuminate the society through art and culture.
In a recent interview with Onlinekhabar, Upreti had said he was ready to take up the responsibility if assigned again.
Meanwhile, Prof Jagat Prasad Upadhyay has been appointed Member Secretary of the Academy as per the recommendation of the a committee led by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Upadhyay also took the oath from Chancellor Upreti today.
