Kathmandu, June 6
As the Narayangadh-Muglin road expansion nears its end, the government is preparing to expand the Naubise-Muglin section to manage traffic along the Prithvi Highway.
The road till Naubise will be expanded with support from the World Bank, officials said. The road section was earlier constructed with support from the Japanese government. The detailed design of the project has already been prepared. The expansion work will start after an agreement is inked with the World Bank.
“Nine-metre-wide roads will be constructed in the hills and the width will reach 11 metres in plain areas,” informed Sanjay Kumar Shrestha from Department of Road Management.
“A two-lane road from Bishaltar to Fistling will also be constructed from the area behind Trishuli,” he added.
