Kathmandu, September 13
Like in past years, the government has announced to open fair price shops during the festive season of Dashain and Tihar this year as well.
Total 47 such shops will open across the country for one and half months, from September 28 to November 13.
The shops will be located at various trade points of Kathmandu Valley, other major cities and some district headquarters.
Citizens can buy daily essentials from these shops at subsidised rates, according to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.
The Ministry’s spokesperson Nawaraj Dhakal says public utilities including Salt Trading Corporation, National Food Corporation and Dairy Development Corporation will also open similar shops targeting the biggest festivals.
