Home Minister Lekhak meets SSB Director General

Kathmandu, November 17

Nepal’s Home Minister, Ramesh Lekhak, held discussions with a delegation led by the Director General of India’s Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Amrit Mohan Prasad, at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Singha Durbar this morning.

The meeting focused on Nepal-India border security. Minister Lekhak emphasised the need for collaboration in controlling illegal drug trafficking, human trafficking, and other criminal activities along the border. He called for efforts to maintain peace and security in a harmonious environment while ensuring that border management does not inconvenience citizens.

Minister Lekhak also urged respectful treatment of individuals crossing the Nepal-India border and expressed confidence that SSB’s border operations would strengthen bilateral relations.

Representatives from Nepal included Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi and Chief of the Armed Police Force Nepal, IG Raju Aryal.

The high-level SSB delegation is in Kathmandu to participate in the annual coordination meeting between the Armed Police Force Nepal and the SSB, which is scheduled to conclude today.
