Chitwan, June 20
Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has confirmed that GB Rai, who is accused of defrauding more than a dozen cooperatives, has been found in Malaysia.
During a press briefing in Bharatpur, where Lamichhane attended Shree Airlines’ test flight, he disclosed that Rai’s location has been identified and efforts are underway to facilitate his return to Nepal. “We have pinpointed his whereabouts,” said Home Minister Lamichhane. “I have also been in communication with Malaysia’s Home Minister.”
Rai, formerly the chairperson of Galaxy TV, had Lamichhane serving as its managing director. Both Rai and Lamichhane have faced scrutiny over their involvement in the cooperative fraud case.
