Kathmandu, December 27
The Nepal Police Headquarters has recommended the Home Ministry suspend Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Thug Bahadur KC.
KC has been accused of taking bribes from a gold trader.
Last month, KC reportedly seized 400 grams of gold from a trader. He then demanded Rs 2.5 million to release that but kept both money and gold.
An investigation team mobilised by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Sunday arrested KC on charges of illegally seizing a trader’s valuables.
DIG Nal Prasad Upadhyay said Lumbini Provincial Police Office has recommended the police headquarters to suspend KC, who is currently under custody at District Police Office Rupandehi.
