Chinese company Honor is set to release two mid-range smartphones in Nepal; the Honor 90 5G and Honor 90 Lite.
With the introduction of new smartphones that boast beautiful designs and impressive performance within their price range, Honor has witnessed significant improvement in both the international and Nepali markets.
Among the three smartphones in the 90 series, namely Honor 90 Pro, Honor 90, and Honor 90 Lite, the Honor 90 5G stands as the middle option. Now, let’s explore the features and offerings of this smartphone.

Design and Display
The Honor 90 has a beautiful design with a curved display in front and a shiny back. On the back, there are two circular ring islands housing the triple camera setup and a flash. The back is made up of glass with a premium feel. The phone comes in four colours Emerald Green, Feather Blue, Diamond Silver and Midnight Black. Diamond Silver stands out with the textured look it has on the back.
On the front, it has a hole-punch camera cutout housing the selfie camera. The suspended streamlined quad-curved display adds up to the premium look featuring an AMOLED panel that supports 1 billion colours. With a refresh rate of 120Hz, the 6.7-inch screen enhances the user experience. The display boasts a high brightness of up to 1600 nits at peak, ensuring proper visibility even under sunlight.
With a screen-to-body ratio of approximately 90.8 per cent, the Honor 90 5G maximises the available display area, providing users with a more expansive viewing area. The 1200 x 2664 pixel resolution and a density of around 435 pixels per inch, result in nice visuals. It has 3840Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming for users’ eyesight.
Performance and Storage
The Honor 90 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition processor, which is a powerful octa-core processor, including a 2.5GHz Cortex-A710 core, three 2.36GHz Cortex-A710 cores, and four 1.8GHz Cortex-A510 cores. The processor is paired with the Adreno 644 GPU, which handles the graphics. It runs on the MagicOS 7.1 operating system, which is based on Android 13.
The Honor 90 5G has a cooling system that includes a large area arterial bionic VC, a third-generation high thermal conductivity graphite sheet, and a first aerospace-grade high-performance thermal gel which helps to dissipate heat more effectively. The system also has 9 pieces of high-precision NTC machine coverage.
There are two RAM options 12GB and 16GB, but only the 12GB option is expected to arrive in Nepal which will is paired with 256GB of storage. There is another storage option of 512GB available but isn’t there in the 12GB option.
Camera
The Honor 90 5G has a triple rear camera system, consisting of a 200MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. It can record 4K video at 30fps and 1080p video at 30/60fps with EIS video stabilisation.
The rear camera system also supports a variety of shooting modes, including dynamic photo, time-lapse photography, AI photography, AI video, super wide-angle, large aperture, multi-lens video, night scene mode, portrait mode, a professional photo, video, slow motion, panorama mode, HDR photo, HDR video, filter, watermark, document scanning, super macro, smile capture, voice-activated camera, timer shooting, continuous shooting, high pixel mode, protagonist mode and micro movie.
The Honor 90 5G has a 50MP selfie lens on the front. It also supports a variety of shooting modes, including dynamic photo, portrait mode, time-lapse photography, night scene mode, filter, smiley face capture, selfie mirroring, voice-activated camera, timer capture, gesture capture, watermark mode and high-resolution mode. It can record 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 30fps with EIS anti-shake.
Battery and Others
The Honor 90 5G is powered by a 5000mAh battery which can be powered back with the in-box 66W fast charger. In terms of connectivity, it supports dual SIM functionality, allowing you to use two SIM cards simultaneously. It has Wi-Fi support for 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless communication and data transfer between devices.
The Honor 90 5G sensors include a gravity sensor, in-screen fingerprint sensor for security, gyro sensor, compass, NFC for contactless transactions, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor.
It is available in four colours, including Emerald Green, Midnight Black, Feather Blue, and Diamond Silver.
