Kathmandu, July 25
Ruling Nepal Communist Party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal says socialism is the only form of political system that the humankind can aspire for in the future.
He is of the view that other political systems make a handful of people rich and the majority poor, hence cannot serve the entire humanity.
Addressing a function organised on the occasion of NCP founder Nara Bahadur Karmacharya’s sixth death anniversary in Kathmandu on Thursday, Dahal said, “The gorge between the rich and the poor has become bigger in the world now. Millions of people are bearing the brunt of poverty. In this context, the humankind’s safe future rests on socialism only.”
The former prime minister said his party and the government under its leadership had a responsibility to develop a new model of socialism and implement it in the country. “This is an opportunity, but also a challenge,” he stated, “We should be able to give a new system of socialism to the world.”
