Kathmandu, October 28
Former foreign minister and leader of the ruling CPN-Maoist Centre, Narayankaji Shrestha, has protested against the Prachanda government’s decision to mark visits of Indian and Chinese Presidents’ to Nepal as public holidays.
Shrestha described the government decision as inappropriate and unnatural, pointing that while the date of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s Nepal visit has been confirmed, Chinese President’s visit has not been confirmed.
He said criticism against the government has increased also because the government chose to make the decision in the context of Indian president’s upcoming Nepal visit.
