Nepalgunj, March 30
Coordinator of the New Force Nepal, Baburam Bhattarai, said on Wednesday that the KP Oli government has no future. But he conceded that this government has extended its stay in power by talking about what he called ‘hollow nationalism’ after the Indian blockade.
Bhattarai, speaking at a press conference in Nepalgunj on Wednesday, said: By imposing a blockade, India has assisted this government.
On the occasion, Bhattarai described the incumbent government as the most incompetent and accused it of making black marketers rich by talking about what he called ‘hollow nationalism.’
Bhattarai said: This government is in deep sleep, so it has failed to address earthquake victims’ problems. National Reconstruction Authority has failed to expedite its works because of political tussles.
Government should hold local elections only after addressing issues related to provincial demarcation and the new constitution, he said.
On the occasion, Bhattarai claimed that New Force has risen because old political forces are mired in corruption.
This force will have people with clean image and political actors committed to development and prosperity, Bhattarai said, adding that it will give a new direction to national politics.
At the press conference, Bamdev Chhetri, in-charge of New Force (Province 5), announced the creation of the force’s Banke district council under Durga Bahadur Chaudhary. The council will have 101 members. At the conference, the NFN made public the names of 88 members, informing that 13 members will be included later.
