Dhangadhi, June 17
A man has been arrested on the charge of raping and murdering his minor daughter in Lamkichuha municipality-8 of the Kailali district in Sudurspachim recently.
DSP Prateek Bista, the District Police Office spokesperson, says the 51-year-old was arrested on the charge of killing his 10-year-old child after the sexual assault.
The victim’s body was found hanging in the family’s cattle shed on June 10. While the family was preparing to cremate her to cover the incident, police had learned of it and took the body under control for investigation.
A medical test at the Seti Provincial Hospital had suggested rape as the cause of her death. Following that, police had launched a probe and concluded her dad’s role in the case.
Further investigation is underway.
