Dhangadhi, February 1
Police have arrested an orphanage operator in connection with two rape cases in the Kanchanpur district of Sudurpaschim.
Shankar Bahadur Chand, the chief of the Mahakali Bal Anathalaya in Mahendranagar, Bhimdatta municipality of the district, was arrested on Tuesday on the charge of raping 14- and 16-year-old girls staying in the orphanage, informs DSP Chakra Bahadur Shah, the spokesperson of the District Police Office.
The orphanage is operated by the Social Welfare Council, a government body to carry out welfare activities.
Further investigation is underway.
