Kathmandu, April 21
Security personnel at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu have barred 122 passengers from boarding flights after suspecting they might have fake coronavirus negative reports, on Wednesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, the police had raided the Sooriya Healthcare as they received a tip-off that the lab there was issuing coronavirus negative test reports without testing the swabs. Those forced to return from the airport today are the passengers carrying reports from the same lab.
The Airport Security Chief Rajesh Bath Bastola says, “The airlines have refused to carry the passengers who were tested at the Sooriya lab as it was revealed that the lab issued fake reports.”
Police had arrested six staffers of the lab during the raid yesterday.
