Police in Kathmandu have arrested two YouTubers on the charge of influencing ongoing investigations into serious criminal cases and character-assassinating crime survivors.
The YouTubers are Hari Pariyar aka Hari Udasi (53), a resident of Bhimdhunga, Nagarjun municipality-8 of Kathmandu, and Nishashan Chilwal (27), a resident of Rainas municipality-3 of Lamsung, currently residing in Tarakeshwar municipality-4, of Kathmandu. They are operators of Media Nepal and Bishal Nepal YouTube channels respectively.
SSP Nabindra Aryal, the spokesperson of the Nepal Police Cyber Bureau, says the bureau had received a complaint against them.
The Kathmandu District Court has remanded both of them in custody for the next seven days for further investigation, according to police.
