Kathmandu, January 27
Most parts of Nepal, including the capital Kathmandu, have received rain in the early hours of Friday as wethermen say the winter season is coming to an end.
Although the minimum temperature has dipped following the rainfall, the mercury will rise in the coming days, say government meteorologists. Rainfall has also been recorded in Dipayal, Kanchanpur, Kailali, Banke, Bardiya and Dang.
“It will continue to rain throughout the day. The minimum temperature will dip till Saturday,” said meterologist Shanti Kandel. She added that the weather will improve from Sunday.
January 16 was the coldest day in Kathmandu this year. The minimum temperature had reached 0.4 degrees on Celsius. “The mercury will not go below 0.4 degrees this time,” Kandel said.
