Kathmandu, October 26
Market monitors in Kathmandu have arrested a man on the charge of relabelling consumables past expiry dates with the new dates.
The arrestee is Sabin Ghimire (26), the chief of a company named Golden Nepal Suppliers. He has been made to pay a fine of Rs 300,000 for the offence.
Acting on a tip-off, the Kathmandu District Administration Office had raided a warehouse of Golden Nepal Suppliers based in Dhapasi of Kathmandu.
The market monitors also confiscated the goods worth Rs 1.4 million there, according to Assistant Chief Justice Officer Uma Kanta Adhikari.
Likewise, the warehouse has been locked by the administration.
