Kathmandu, September 2
The Kathmandu metropolitan city is preparing to let schools reopen face-to-face classes in its jurisdiction from next week.
The schools had closed the physical classes in late April citing the Covid-19 infection risks. Since then, they have been conducting online classes.
But, with the Kathmandu District Administration Office authorising local governments to make a decision to open the schools, the city government is preparing to reopen the institutions, informs its Education Section Chief Ram Prasad Subedi.
“We are discussing the issue and trying to reopen the schools by next week.”
Whereas the Gokarneshwar municipality in Kathmandu has already reopened the schools, other local units in the district are also likely to do the same once the KMC makes a decision.
